    Exclamation The banksters strike back!

Comming from a show hosted by the Rusia Today news , this may be taken with a healthy dose of skepticism.
The actual phrasing of the G20 agreement is rather obscure for the uninitiated

I also found this disquieting article.

How much will the actual deposit insurance cover?

We recently had a bank fraud in Mexico. Where the bankers actually stole the money. The people who had savings are getting at most 130,000 pesos. It reminds me of the Argentinian "corralito". I am wondering if this could become a worldwide phenomenon.

Nay, this is the correct place to post this topic.

Banksy said it himself : The only Banks you can trust ( that would be Iain M Banks).

... but I am having second thoughts given the way in which he decieved me in The Use of Weapons.

Nonetheless , I think the current events would disgust him : banks rescuing themselves using the savings of their creditors... thus avoiding government intervention. it seems another bank crash might be visiting us very soon .

    Now some quotes from IMB:

"Absolutely. We live in a Greedist culture; we are ruled by Greedists, in the grip of Marketolatory. Selfishness is the the new black and I despise it. And I really do blame Margaret F. Thatcher; she did everything in her considerable power to turn selfishness from a vice into a virtue, and we are living with the consequences now, the most selfish of the selfish having wrecked the world economy and got away with it—salaries, stock options, and bonuses restored, like nothing happened—after putting their own empty greed before any other consideration. Quite a legacy."
    Iain M Banks

"SCOTS author Iain Banks has joined MPs and church leaders in accusing the government of failing to push banks to adopt ethical investments."

"I won't miss waiting for the next financial disaster because we haven't dealt with the underlying causes of the last one. Nor will I be disappointed not to experience the results of the proto-fascism that's rearing its grisly head right now. It's the utter idiocy, the sheer wrong-headedness of the response that beggars belief. I mean, your society's broken, so who should we blame? Should we blame the rich, powerful people who caused it? No let's blame the people with no power and no money and these immigrants who don't even have the vote, yeah it must be their fucking fault. So I might escape having to witness even greater catastrophe."

So... IMB is gone assuredly he escaped witnessing the greater catastrophe ... and here we are comfortably sitting in the rail tracks while the train approaches at full speed towards our position... let's endjoy the view while it lasts ( pun intended).

Many rich, powerful foreigners don't have to vote - they lobby the crooked MPs and buy stupidly overpriced London property instead.
'Poverty is not an injustice. There is no such thing as causes for poverty, only causes for wealth. Poverty is not a wrong, but taking money from those who have it to equalize incomes is basically theft, which is wrong.' - Typical Randroid
