Science in Science Fiction at Midlothian Science Festival
19:30 - 21:00 Friday 10th October 2014
Mayfield Library, Dalkeith
Do Science Fiction writers always get their science right? And do they need to? Ken McLeod is a local author whose well-known works include the Fall Revolution series which began with The Star Fraction. He was also a friend of the late, great Iain M. Banks, whose science fiction is revered for its far-reaching breadth of vision. Here he will be discussing the use of science in the fiction of their books, and how they tried to make it as accurate as not-yet-invented technology can be.
Tickets: £2.00
