    Thanks for your help. I use an antique, steam powered Photoshop 5.5. I have already lowered the image quality to make the file small at about 4.5mb, so that's not a problem. It irks me that I can send it no problem in an email, but can't post it on my blog which serves, like many others as a free website.

    It is asking a lot of picture hosting sites, like Flickr and Photobucket to cater for such files as most photos are 4:3 ish, so I understand setting pixel limits of around 2000. Very few people have screens/monitors that can show more than that.

    Or check out Cloudinary. They're more an automated api. But they have a manual interface as well to upload images. complete with automatic thumbnail generation, etc.
