Default A Gift from the Culture The First Culture Movie!?

Well, it is in development, and only about 5% of films that enter the “in development” phase make it to the big screen, but then that is a better chance than 0%. I checked with Iain’s agent and she confirmed that it is definitely on the cards.

Dominic Murphy at F&ME is working on it.

Hmmm, a quick flick in State of the Art tells be this is only about 18 pages long. What kind of adaptation is this going to be? Surely not enough for a "Big Screen" film.

It gives them scope to add in things like some Culture background that is probably assumed in the short story. I'd rather they took a short story and added things than took a novel and left things out.

I only know as much as the news items says, coupled with the fact that Iain's agent confirmed the truth of the story.

Please excuse me if this is a stupid question, but where does this "Gift from the Culture" appear, is it in another one of IMB`s books?

A short story in the collection The State of the Art, which first appeared in Interzone #20.

Well there's short and there's very short. Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep was at least two hundred pages.
    Drink, but very carefully...
