well well well, a chnce to introduce ,myself again.
I'm phaze, aka phazedout, up, in and on onemeomorable ocassion phazesidwayswithatwistoflemon.
The d is not used, think of it like the von in von lipwig call me phaze, call me Alan, call me for a drink, you can even call me early in the morning (my brain wakes me anyways).

Most of this lot know me form the old board (RIP) I'm happily ensconsed in the west of Ireland but have alos been known to hang around a small town in England called Wincaton.

Hello everyone,

I've been lurking for a while and thought it was finally time to say hi. I was going to introduce myself as a PhD student who's doing their thesis on IMB, but after seeing the 'How long till...' thread I'm going to deny all knowledge of and connection to academia. So, I've been a really big fan of Banks's writing since I was about 18 and a friend of mine had a copy of The Player of Games with a confusing word in the blurb (nomenclature) and thought that as I am a wordy sort I might know what it meant. I didn't, we looked it up and still didn't understand what it meant (the science of naming things?) and I decided to read the book to see if it became any clearer. It didn't, but by about page 10 I didn't care any more and have reread PoG every year since. I've read all the M books over the years since then, and just spent the last year or so blasting my way through the non-M, finishing with Transition last week. Bring on the fake analysis!
