Hey i now have 3 Iain M banks culture books (CP, PoG and use of weapons) and whenever i am reading them i always notice they have a lovely book-y smell!
I think orbit publishers must be up to something, what's your secret?
What you should do is release the smell as a deoderant, and instead of making yourelf smell like horrible chemicals you can smell like BOOOOOOOOOOOKS
WONDERFUL FABULOUS BOOKS!!!
Do all books smell like this, because most of them don't smell of anything :(
My programming books smell stale , my school dictionary smells rank
Holes by louis sachar smells quite nice but not as good as Orbit books....

It's particularly the case with new books, I think it's a combination of the paper & especially the glue used.
New CD inlays also have a rather pleasant smell I find

Oh yes, I love the smell of a book. I've got some old ones that have a great aroma.
There's a sentence I didn't expect to type today.

I love picking up old books just for their aroma. I'm waiting for tomorrow for the delivery of a book from the twenties that should be worth the price for the aroma alone.
And Claire, my darling, modesty prevents me from the obvious declaration. Just this once.
Normal levels of smut will be resumed as soon as possible.

Ahh, there's a little bit of chivalry still fighting for survival in the world. :D

I should think so too. ;)

See the Good Doctor (Mr Asimov) for a description of the aroma of old "Pulp" SF magazines............
