Celebrities, heh, they're only human and can be caught out from time to time. I often think we as a society seem to be way too uptight about emotional outbursts, but sometimes they can be completely uncalled for and out of the blue, for example Barry Gibb's sulky outburst (http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=mdvfmGPDVkk) on a British talkshow from way back in the mid to late 90s (the look of heartfelt dismay and lost composure on Clive Anderson's chummy face was a sight to behold though). But often signs of strong emotion can be blown completely out of proportion and out of context, like that Internet meme, the Howie Scream (http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=UShPXuNQTHQ&feature=related).

Everyone gets annoyed & needs a little cool off. I guess it's the old as a celebrity you have a certain amount of responsibility & they are only there because of the public.
Watching that Beegees thing again, I still can't really see what the problem was though

Apart from Clive 'Smug, moi?' Anderson taking a bunch of cheap shots throughout?

The emotional outburst which sticks in my mind wasn't filmed but the photo afterwards was pretty gruesome, Ritchie Manic being interviewed by Steve Lamacq when Steve worked for the NME.

Well yeah, but that's just what he does. & he didn't say anything really offensive

I remember Keith Allen throwing a hissy fit on some BBC2 review programme a good few years ago. Although I think at the time he did that sort of thing quite often.
Funniest outburst of recent years for me is Preston - although I admit the true meaning of the word celebrity is being stretched to apply it to him - walking off Never Mind the Buzzcocks only to be replaced by a member of the audience. Good deal as far as I was concerned. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=wfocZh-shWk

Both parties totally miscalculated the situation, but Clive Anderson was the wronged one - big Barry Gibb didn't like not being in charge of the conversation or himself and his songs being the butts of Clive Anderson's witty quips, so he scooped up the football and angrily stamped off.
The host and audience seemed to be mostly laughing with the Bee Gees instead of at them, while the late Maurice Gibb seemed to be as taken off guard as Clive and the audience when the other Gibbs sullenly stalked out the studio under a dark cloud (he even cheefully said goodbye to the host).
Michael Richards spectacularily blows his top (http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=sqgLYwFtuMg) when doing a stand up routine, John Sweeney's more justified explosion (http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=mjlo4u_8g60) at creepy Scientologists, and Keith Allen storms off (http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=AxhQApr-17E&feature=PlayList&p=560E5D168D68677A&playnext=1&index=40) the Late Show in disgust.

While not furious, Oliver Reed was known as a wild one (http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=EZMXIxIQmPw), Bill O'Reilly loses his rag (http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=2tJjNVVwRCY) at the production crew, a American 'foot'ball coach collapses into incoherency (http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=m_N1OjGhIFc) after losing a game, and Kevin Keegan snarls in fury (http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=YXpUdBlRZe8) at his rival.

Apparently Christian Bale has flipped out big time on the set of Terminator: Salvation, but it is audio (http://gawker.com/5144788/christian-bale-just-screaming-crazily-at-everyone?autoplay=true) only (very sweary and a disturbing accent fluctuating wildly across the Northern Hemisphere).

lol, not so much of an "American Psycho" more trans-atlantic.
Bale hasn't done himself any favours, has he!
Before listening to that, I had a certain sympathy for him. But he comes across as a complete d~#K. And threatening to get the guy sacked...

Darren Aronofsky has supported his outburst, saying it was probably completely justified in the context of the shoot, and he's heard and seen a lot worse on set.

I don't doubt that he has- but it doesn't make it right.
Threatening someone with their job when you know that there's no way on Earth they can ever answer you back with anything but 'Sorry' is bullying.

GHETTO EDIT: I do think Bale seems a bit hard done by, when he wasn't the only person in the world to go on some angry tirade in the workplace when somebody acts in a irritating or unreliable manner.

So what if he had been filming some? Don't know why people get so funny. Like when some bands won't allow photographs to be taken

Technically, it's regarded as breach of artistic copyright. A stage show is protected, even the light show, so to record in any form needs permission. If you turn up with professional looking equipment especially, you can be regarded as taking photos for personal financial gain on the back of other people's efforts. Odd I know but there you go.
The other more sensible view is that most people taking photos at gigs use flash which can be very offputting (but you'd hardly notice that Deep, being stuck at the back :) ). I can see where they're coming from, it's very annoying being in the crowd with all those phones stuck in the air, especially when the end recording is usually virtually unwatchable.

Yep, the quality is usually pretty poor
Not sure about some falshes being off putting, the lights are usually flashing away all the time anyway

Yeah, more annoying for the rest of the crowd than the performers I would have thought.

It's copyright BS in regards to not taking photos on corporate property.
And Bale Outs are pretty common in the military (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r1GrdTakvl8&eurl=http://littlegreenfootballs.com/weblog/).
