At the beginning off consider phlebas I can't work out what shape the ship is that carries the mind out of the factory.
I'm making something super secret and need to know what it looks like.
Maybe sketches of other ships will help.
Also I am waiting for Use of weapons to get here, does it have clear descriptions of things (like vavatch getting blown up in CP)?
ps: i forgot what CREW stands for, enlightenment please?

Well, there is always this one (http://www.fastness.co.uk/content/pics/ships.jpg) based on Banks' own sketches, which seems to indicate that Culture ships don't look all that exciting.

I can see it now: level 1 - pilot the Mind out of the exploding ship (in real time of course); level 2 - control an Idiran trooper and battle your way through the Super-Mario-style Sorpen palace, and rescue poor Horza before the brown flood reaches his nose! ;)

Would like to see a Culture game (old style, I grew up with a ZX Spectrum)
As for Culture ships. I always see the big ones as bricks & the smaller ones as bubbles.

The big ones are bricks inside bubbles ( the shields )

last thing in the destructin of the orbital
after the big ship (begins with G, GCU or GSV) dissects vavatch into little bitch and shoots the "Hub"
where's the Hub? and how big is it?

Taking the hub in Look to Windward as an example, it's located smack dead in the center of the orbital, as the axis of a wheel. As to the size I'd have to guesstimate - not very big, as from what I can gather the hub consists of only the Mind and a viewing gallery with perhaps a docking port of sorts. Without giving away any spoilers if you haven't read Look to Windward, I'd say it's a rough sphere no more than 30 meters across.

Sounds about right to me. Imagin a ball-bearing in the middle of a tyre

Indeed nice ideas - if you wanted to knock together a game quickly you could do worse than have a look into Processing (http://www.processing.org). It's Java (not too far from C# I'm told) but designed to make animation and graphics easy.
I've been wondering what projects could make a good game - Azad might not be such a good choice but the drone's escape from the ship in Excession could be a fun project; a mix of Tron and Matrix-style bullet time?
