Dear All -

The forum software we're using allows for the traditional setting of custom user titles depending on the number of posts a user has made. Currently they're set to the rather boring default options, but we should probably do something about that.

Please feel free to make suggestions as to a workable (and safe-for-work!) framework - the number of posts and the associated titles - below. The best suggestions will be incorporated into the new framework, to be applied as and when your friendly, neighbourhood Forum Admin gets around to it...

I'd like to suggest ship names or classes. But that may alienate the non"M"ers. So how about Iain's books through in order? ie:

1-50 posts "The Wasp Factory"
50 -100 posts "Walking on Glass"
101 - 250 posts "The Bridge"
251 - 500 posts "Consider Plebas"

All the way upto "Matter" for 10,000 +

Although being stuck on 'Canal Dreams' for a thousand posts may be seen as a punishment.

Could we start with 'Casual Spammer', work through 'Vaguely Interested In Two Novels' and 'Desperate For Someone To Write My Essay' and finish on 'No Social Life/Lax Corporate Firewall'?

Or just do away with showing the post count altogether?

Do away with post counts? Surely that's a major part of the Interwebs e-peni scheme?

I reckon so. It's the standard set of user titles we're looking to change. If a member wants to give themselves their own title it'll over-ride the default option. As far as I know, anyhow...

Yup, that's the way it works in practice.
