The new Dr.Who has been named as Matt Smith:confused:. Never heard of him.

Worked a lot with Billie Piper, it seems. He's one weird looking chap, that's for sure.

He was in that Philip Pullman programme a few years back, Crimson Rose or some such. He was decent enough in that.

I know he wasn't in the running, but I reckon Mark Gatiss would have been great

'Ruby in the Smoke' and 'Shadow in the North' are to two Pullman adaptions he was in.

I reckon he'll be a good Doctor- but I suppose this means we won't see the rest of the Sally Lockhart books filmed now..!

It went mental over on Digital Spy yesterday when it was announced. Poor lad, I feel sorry for him taking over from David Tennant, but personally I'm looking forward to it. Had enough of the lovely David in the role, and still preferred Christopher Eccleston. I think Matt will be good. I hope so anyway, if only to prove all the moaning gits over on DS wrong.

Doesn't help his profile that a "suspicious amount" of betting took him from 33-1 to 1-3 shortly before he got the job.

I wonder how much Stephen Moffatt put on and when? :)

Ah, the traumas of youth. Haven't watched any of the Doctors since Mr. Pertwee. Amazing how much some people have invested in this.
