I had a very pleasetn 10 year old black bush a while back also got a nice 17 year old bowmans which I break out on occassion (although for the reasons stated above not right now).

I has a Q on the drinking, my walking stick has a wee test tube inserted in to the handle, you screw the top off to access it, what would ye recommend putting in the test tube, I'd say there's enough for two small (British) measures.

BrewDog 77 lager and Punk IPA.

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwsome :-)

Sainsbury's Beer Challenge sees 12 beers listed for 2-3 weeks; most popular gets a full listing.

4 for the price of 3; look out for 4 Williams Brothers beers and 3 from Brewdog, including their hop bombing double IPA, Hardcore.

Tesco have two beers from US brewers Flying Dog; Classic Pale Ale (which I'm enjoying now) and Gonzo Imperial Porter. Plus 77 and Punk (that where you got yours, ed?) with the latter selling at 1.09 GBP a bottle. Bargain of the year.

No, I got mine from Gap Wines, the newly appointed Irish distributor. As far as I know they have the exclusive, so Tesco can't stock it (not that they did over here anyway), and no idea how that'll work with the Sainsbury Beer Challenge here.

Bothe reasonable, but nothing special.

Unicorn was the best - a good solid, mid brown bitter.

Tit for Tat wasn't so good, though it did improve later on (they either changed the barrel or I got to drunk to notice it wasn't in peak form anymore). More hoppy & pale in appearence.

Worth ordering on-line? Well i don't know if they are available in bottles, but they are certainly worth a go if you see them

I found my soda siphon whilst clearing out the basement. So I made (rather a lot of) a very nice ginger mint vanilla syrup. The roommates report that it makes a nice carbonated bevvie, as well as very nice adjunct to cheap bourbon. I haven't yet had a chance to try it carbonated, but it is very tasty.

Funnily enough no didn't got to the Winterfest. I was meeting up with some Sprouty people (Robert Ranin fans) & we were located rather to far South West of Manchester for the Fest. Never been drinking there before so the pubs sufficed for the visit, some great ones there.

Sadly Derby fest clashes with the SFX weekender
