Why are they using the Dr? Was it honorary from Oxford?

Does that mean we can call him 'The Doctor' that might get confusing.

Iain has five or six honorary degrees and has been Dr Banks for quite a while. Maybe it is an academic thing not wanting to offend sometime by ignoring their title. Maybe they have the wrong Iain Banks, there is an archaeologist at Glasgow University of that name.
