As we're completely and utterly unable to ever keep any thread on topic, and as we're now also getting proper forum admin'ing (I'm only surprised it took this long for a thread to be locked for going off topic), I thought it might be handy for there to be a thread to carry on conversations that have begun elsewhere to don't really fit anywhere.

or perhaps this might be about to be locked as well.

For the record, it wasn't locked for going off topic, see answer in Deep's Locksmith thread.

As we've done before, there'll be prompts if threads seem to be running too long off-topic before we resort to locking.
