I remember a Daily Mail Review of the Tolkien book: The Children of Hurin which made me laugh. Unfortunately I need to paraphrase as I can't remember the exact quote.

The problem with the book is the language. In Tolkien speak 'the cat sat on the mat' becomes 'Paddy Paws, son of Smudge, son of Pussykins came to the mat in the lands of Gobaldeegook and dwelt upon it eight years long and comfortable'.

"this work is both good and original. However the parts that are good are not original and the parts that are original are not good"

And who pays for this mat? The taxpayer of course, when the lazy feline leeches from our society in its rolls of fat lying on its confortable palace...

Had it been The News of The World it could have been:

CAT BEARS ALL ON MAT INSIDE PHOOAR!

Far be from me to comment on whatever forum choice of Sunday Paper.
