Then who ever post next puts what the new word is & a clue to the next word stating how many letters at the end of it you are using to start the next word with

Clear?

eg:

"Iain" (2) mad

Answer:

Zebra?

Actually, it isn't British English to use 's' instead of 'z'. The 's' is an accepted variant, but 'z' (for most, but not all, words ending ize/ise) is the standard. I was surprised too, but I'm assured that it is the case: OED (http://www.askoxford.com/concise_oed/italic?view=uk)

BeckyH

Hey guys, there is no right answer. Any word that fits the definition and the letters can be used. If it's not the one the originator was thinking of they will come by and be amazed at your genius.
So you think it's Zebra. Now give us a new word to find using part of that word.

Champagne Socialist

don't fret, I didn't take your remark disparagingly, I was trying to make a quip in return, hence the smiley.

Is that right? Well then. I've always been trying to find the word the previous commenter was thinking of. However.

perambulate is the initial word.

not on time = the clue to the following word.

Perambulate

4 - not on time
